Mannequin Idea

1. Using a mannequin head, add subtle buttons in various places in the surface of the head, then cover in patches of different textural materials. Place the head in a box with 4 arms holes extending outward from each side of the box. The idea behind this is that the user has to feel their way around the face, they cannot see but will use the sense of to identify changes in texture and feel for the buttons. These buttons will then trigger visuals etc, possibly in relevance to the part of the head in which button they triggered. A camera above inside the box could also help aid the user in a black, white silhouette, adding an extra layer to visuals.

2. Similar idea but a few variations. Instead of different materials, use mirrors and also line the box the mannequin sits in with mirrors, then use light sensors to trigger visuals etc. The way this could work is that the user looks in through these holes, shutting off the light, the eyes will reflect with the mirroring, then the camera will pick up this mirrored eye and show it through visuals etc.

Next thought....

Hacking a keyboard, using the letters to come together with words, when words put together they trigger different imagery to represent identity and change. I like the simplicity and in someway complexity, but maybe it is too simple.....will keep thinking (it could play out almost like the game hangman effect, you dont get the "show" until you get the right words to trigger it)

Another idea - scanning

The suggestion of a hacking a scanner came up. Thought this was a really good idea, taking a scanner and when someone scanned a different body part it would take the values of these pixels and put it through a program then show visuals representing identity through that body part on being scanned.
Further investigation...could not find any help on it being done before, no one had hacked it to take any of the values or hook up to the computer in the way i had hoped...even Steven was at a loss...I don't have enough time or brainpower to work out how to or even where to start...nice idea but back to the drawing board for me.

Changing ideas - material

Talking to others about what i could do, really want to somehow personalise my interface more.....trying to find a form of material that could hold an imprint. Thought about play dough but it goes hard, maybe some sort of silicon or putty. Will keep researching.

Am struggling for ideas at the moment, but then again maybe I have to many and am struggling to narrow it down! Thought about extending on my project from 312. It worked by using feet to create audio when stood on, I thought about then adding hands to the combination and make visuals that worked with it. Possibly my idea revolving around identity and how we are often seen and traced through the lines and markings on our skin, that grow and age with time. Visuals of these different identities through hands and feet could be incorporated etc with each hand press of pressure. Not too sure what sort of sounds the audio could act as yet, something to further think about.
