Have been thinking alot about ideas.
I want to try and keep the mouse/model as simple as possible as I have to say hands on work like this is definitley one of my weaknesses.
I want my idea to represent the emotional journey and strength and endurance it takes to really attempt something as huge as swim crossing the cook strait.
Man vs Sea, Hinepopou vs Devonport
I want it to somehow involve the Hei Matau (fish hook) as it provides symbolism and the idea of ancestory.
My first thought was to base on man vs sea....have this hook almost like an arm and the user have to pull and wrestle with this hook to defeat it an activate the mouse button and interactive piece.
The other is similar but more focused on endurance where the user has to continue to pull this hook outward with rubber and as you move the mouse traces how many of these endurance pulls you have done and therefore relate back to the interactive piece whereabouts you would be with the swim...almost based on the idea of an interactive fitness game.
Just a starting point for me to work on will have to do some more research into hows the technical stuff in the mouse model could work and also the extents and limitations of quartz for the interactive piece.
